Book Club Terms:

By attending a session and/or submitting the online form, families agree to the terms below.

I confirm that I am the guardian of the student(s) attending the book club. I consent to the student(s)' participation in Book Club. I consent to receiving correspondence, including email marketing materials, from College Torch. I understand College Torch does not supply books, materials, or devices to students. For liability purposes, College Torch may record Book Club sessions.

I agree to indemnify and hold College Torch harmless for any result of the Book Club experience, including students' usage of the internet at home. College Torch does not agree to assume a supervisory role of students. College Torch makes no statements or guarantees about the content of the monthly book selections, including the age-appropriateness of the books. Parents are always encouraged to read and approve the books their child will read in the Book Club.

In the case of distracting or disruptive behavior, College Torch may, at its discretion, disinvite students from the program. College Torch may discontinue this service at any time. The Book Club program is first-come-first-serve and will be capped at the number of participants allowed by the online meeting room provider. Each family may be limited to two devices.

UPDATE (as of June 2022):

As of June 2022, the Book Club is a fully student-run organization. All terms above apply to the student President and other student leaders. As of June 2022, College Torch no longer supervises or moderates the book club, giving full leadership and autonomy of the Book Club to the students. Families agree to indemnify and hold harmless College Torch and the student leaders entirely and in perpetuity.
